Need a quick way to give yourself some space or change up the energy? Give it a try - what have you got to lose (except stress)?

Pregnancy can bring incredible joy, anticipation, and excitement.

And it can also bring uncertainty.

You may find yourself worrying about symptoms, birth plans, finances, relationships, parenting decisions, or simply how much your life is about to change. For highly sensitive and neurodivergent people especially, pregnancy can feel like a constant stream of new information, sensations, and decisions to process. It's a lot.

When that happens, it's easy to get stuck.

Stuck in worry.

Stuck in overwhelm.

Stuck in trying to get it all right...and trying so hard not to get it wrong.

Over the years, I've found that the most powerful way to create change isn't by finding the perfect answer. Instead, it's by creating a little more space around the question.

A Simple Phrase That Creates Space

One of my favorite tools is known as the mantra of Access Consciousness®:

"All of life comes to me with ease, joy, and glory."®

Whether or not those words feel completely true to you isn't actually the point. The value comes from noticing what happens when you introduce a different possibility.

When we're overwhelmed, our minds often become fixated on what's wrong, what could go wrong, or what we need to solve. That oh-so-familiar hamster wheel of trying to figure it out.

"All of life comes to me with ease, joy, and glory."® functions as a pattern interrupt.

It invites us to consider that there are more possibilities available than we're currently seeing. And if it just feels wrong to say something you don't quite believe (Hello, my comrades in autism!), what if you think of it this way: You may not fully understand how a car with an automatic transmission works, but you probably do know driving one in a hillside city creates more ease than driving a lumbering jalopy with a manual transmission. In fact, you might choose your rental car accordingly. Think of "All of life comes to me with ease, joy, and glory."® as a smooth driving, peppy little convertible, perfect for winding easily through the ups and downs of your perinatal journey. And if you're still dubious, maybe just give it a try...

Try This Exercise

Think of something that feels heavy right now.

Maybe you're experiencing:

  • Pregnancy anxiety

  • Morning sickness

  • Difficulty sleeping

  • Fear about labor and birth

  • Financial stress

  • Uncertainty about becoming a parent

  • Communication breakdowns with your partner or boss.

Just bring the situation to mind. Notice how it feels in your body. Notice any tension, queasiness, or the clenching of your jaw.

Now repeat:

"All of life comes to me with ease, joy, and glory."®

Say it several times. Let your attention rest on the words..."ease"...."joy"..."glory (the exuberance of living)"...All of life comes to you...not because you're working hard, getting it right, or earning it. Because you are you. It has before. It will again. It is.

You might say it silently.

You might say it out loud.

You might even laugh a little while saying it.

There's no right way to do it.

Say it ten times then bring your attention back to the situation that felt heavy.

What do you notice?

Looking for Lighter, Not Perfect

The goal isn't to convince yourself that everything is wonderful.

The goal is simply to notice whether the situation feels a little lighter.

A little less charged.

A little less sticky.

Maybe the problem is still there.

Maybe nothing has changed externally.

But internally, is there more space?

More breathing room?

More capacity to respond rather than react?

That, Beautiful You, is where the change begins.

What Else Is Possible?

The next time you find yourself caught in worry, stress, or uncertainty, I invite you to pause and ask:

What if there is more ease available here than I can currently see?

You don't have to know how.

You don't have to force it.

Just be curious.

Curiosity can open doors that certainty never could.
